Our story
Established in 2022, Gold Standard Dog Grooming (GSDG) is a grooming salon that focuses on quality over quantity. We offer both traditional crates and dog suites, but for the safety of both our staff and your furry family members, we don’t offer a free-range environment. We encourage open lines of communication between our clients and GSDG to make sure that your pet has the best possible grooming experience.
Meet the owner
Molly Forbes, the proud owner of GSDG has spent her life dedicated to the care of dogs. She got her start at 11 years old in upstate New York when she was given an Australian Shepherd on the condition that she learned to train, groom, and care for him.
Molly spent the next ten years working in a kennel breeding, showing, training, grooming, and caring for boarding dogs. Internships at a vet clinic, obedience facility, boarding facility, and a daycare facility, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business management, rounded out her knowledge in the industry. Molly has been grooming full time for the last ten years and is a member of the National Dog Groomers Association of America and certified in animal first aid and CPR.
After moving to Charlotte in 2020 Molly spent her time grooming in a salon well known for doodle haircuts allowing her to become well versed in doodles. Molly is also very familiar with AKC standard breed cuts and hand stripping.
